Progress Toward a Circular Economy: A Comparative Analysis of EU Member States

Research Context: This peer-reviewed paper was developed during my tenure as a Data Analyst and Research Assistant Intern at the Lithuanian Research Council / Vilnius University (Kaunas Faculty) in Jul 2025 – Aug 2025.

Core Methodology & Personal Contributions To model the complex, multi-dimensional indicators governing circular economic transitions across the European Union, I executed the quantitative backbone of the study:

Data Engineering: Extracted, cleaned, and processed macro-level indicator datasets from Eurostat (2018 & 2023) to capture temporal shifts across EU member states.

MCDM Modeling: Coded and implemented advanced Multi-Criteria Decision-Making framework pipelines using Picture Fuzzy SWARA for subjective weight assignment under uncertainty and CRITIC–TOPSIS for final performance rankings.

Sensitivity Analysis: Designed and ran algorithmic sensitivity iterations to evaluate the statistical stability of model rankings against shifting criteria weights.

Academic Writing: Co-authored the final manuscript, translating algorithmic outcomes into policy implications for European sustainability management.
